At the meeting, Vice President Doan said she was deeply impressed by Japanese people’s courage and iron will to restructure the nation after the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami last year, hoping that with their great efforts, they will overcome every difficulty to build Japan into a prosperous nation.

Mrs Doan also conveyed best regards and an invitation to visit Vietnam in 2013 from President Truong Tan Sang to the Japanese Emperor and Empress on the occasion of the 40^th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

For his part, Crown Prince Naruhito thanked the Vietnamese people for supporting his country after the dreadful disaster and praised Vietnam’s achievements in the process of national industrialization and modernization.

He said he believes Vice President Doan’s participation in the ”Future of Asia” Conference will contribute to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
